Return your empties in 4 easy steps

Return-It Express is the simple and convenient way to return your beverage containers for refund! With Express, you no longer need to spend time counting and sorting your containers - just bag them and drop them off at an Express Depot. We'll do the rest!

  1. Bring your unsorted containers in sealed, clear or transparent bags up to 90-litre capacity to an Express site. Tip: put only a maximum of 12 glass bottles in each bag to prevent breakage. Find an Express site near you.
  2. Use the phone number you registered with to log in at an Express Kiosk.
  3. Print your tags, tag your bags, and leave them with us.
  4. We'll sort and count the containers and your Express Account will be credited with your deposit refund. You can redeem your account balance by Interac e-Transfer or a mailed cheque.

What's Express & GO?

Express & GO revolutionizes the recycling experience with solar-powered drop-off stations. With extended hours and contactless service, recycling your beverage containers has never been easier. Simply bring your unsorted containers in clear or transparent plastic bags to the Express & GO station — we’ll sort and count your containers for you and credit your refund to your online account.

  1. Sign up for a free Return-It Express account
  2. Place your unsorted empty beverage containers in a clear or transparent plastic bag up to 90-litre capacity
  3. Print your bag labels at the Express & GO station. Bag label kiosks are located in the station or at nearby locations like coffee shops or grocery stores. Remember to label all of your bags.
  4. At the Express and GO station, text your Express & GO Passcode to 778-400-5253, receive your one-time PIN to open the door, drop off your bags, and GO!
  5. We'll sort and count your containers and credit your Express account with your deposit refund

What's Express Plus?

A convenient and cashless way to recycle your empty beverage containers and other small household items.

Products accepted for recycling may vary by location and include the following:

  • Return-It Express for used beverage containers
  • End-of-life-electronics
  • Used or end-of-life small appliances
  • Lighting products (light bulbs and fixtures)
  • Batteries
